#ATLast, Outkast comes home to play Centennial Olympic Park
After playing festival gigs seemingly everywhere but their hometown, the original ATLiens announced a single Atlanta concert, which sold out in minutes and rapidly evolved into a three-day event as two more shows were added. Outkast-influenced artists Kid Cudi, former Stone Mountain resident Childish Gambino (aka Donald Glover), and East Atlanta teen prodigy Raury are billed as opening acts. The duo promises other “special guests,” which could become a family reunion of sorts; Atlanta residents such as Janelle Monáe and Future made cameos during Outkast’s appearances this summer. V103 morning show host Ryan Cameron predicts that Usher, Ludacris, and Jermaine Dupri will be among the surprise performers. “Anyone from Atlanta that has had a musical footprint on the city will be on that stage at some point,” Cameron says. Whoever appears, Andre 3000 and Big Boi will eclipse them all. “They are some of the best live performers in entertainment,” says Cameron.
